INVESTING FOR HUMANITY

Supporting UK-based businesses creating the future of food and materials

Beyond Impact aims to support businesses whose products and services accelerate the transition away from the use of animals.

A sustainable and compassionate transition

The transition away from the use of animals provides an opportunity , in that it combines four key elements that support the growth of companies with relevant products and service and which enable innovative start-ups to disrupt well-established competitors:

Supermarket

Consumer behaviour

Reducing consumption of animal products by the broader population and an increasing number of vegans in the younger generation.

Microscope

Foodtech and biotech

Technological breakthroughs are enabling products formerly taken from animals to be developed and produced without the use of animals.

Sustainable Development

Sustainability concerns

Climate and environmental concerns may cause pricing in of externalities and investor and governmental support for sustainable businesses is growing.

Vegetable Juices

Health

Recognition of the benefit of a plant-based diet is strengthening demand for non-animal alternatives.

Example of industries that are anticipated to experience continued disruption and remain particularly susceptible to these challenges include, but are not restricted to: food, agriculture, ingredients, retail, materials, clothing and personal care products.

The confluence of this rapid evolution of consumer preferences, technology, health and sustainability concerns is supportive to the growth of young companies to become suppliers of innovative ingredients and materials, or challenger brands to existing multinational corporations.
